‘Behind the Haze’ is a drawing project based on people’s memories of past incidents, the latter of which could be dynamic and changing. This project was conducted during the artist’s teaching position for teaching art to people with special needs, including people with slight forms of dementia.
This job created a strong tie between the artist and the students, who were guided as they learnt to express themselves.
During the course it was observed that their memories were often out of context, and often it created its own story. The memories were transformed into a temporary shadow drawing by placing clear water in various patterns and forms onto a mosquito net. The audience could see the dynamic and fleeting moment of these memories, which was different depending on the angle, and which slowly disappeared.
